U.S. Marshals find man wanted for 2024 East Side murder in Columbus

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — U.S. Marshals arrested a man wanted for a 2024 East Side homicide late Monday in Columbus.

Eddie Winphrie, 42, was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), a news release from the marshals said.

Winphrie is one of three people charged in the Oct. 17, 2024, shooting death of Reynaldo Hernandez, 24, whose body was found by police in the Mount Hope Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the Sharon Line area of the East Side several hours after he was shot at a home on Bott Street…
