Columbus woman pleads guilty in Pataskala overdose death

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) β€” A Columbus woman has pleaded guilty in connection with a fentanyl overdose death, according to the Licking County prosecutor.

Melissa Jones, this month, agreed to a plea deal, and a judge sentenced her on Tuesday to at least 6 years in prison.

The prosecutor said Pataskala Police went to a suspected overdose on April 26, 2025, and located a body. A white powdery substance in a pill bottle was found in the victim’s pants. That substance was later determined to be a mixture of cocaine and fentanyl…
