Linden bar shuts down for good after deadly shooting, history of problems

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A North Linden bar with a history of problems is closed permanently after the owners reached an agreement with the City of Columbus following two recent shootings, including a deadly shooting on Friday morning.

Since July 2023, there have been over 50 police runs to the location, including four shootings. This voluntary closure speeds things up and closes the bar right away.

“First Stop ignored CPD’s safety recommendations that could have prevented these senseless acts of violence,” City Attorney Zach Klein said in a statement. “That’s why over the last few weeks our Property Action Team pushed to hold them in contempt and get them shut down, and why we’re glad that they finally agreed do the right thing and close their doors permanently.”…
