Central Ohio Walmart stores to get tech upgrades and expanded services

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Central Ohio shoppers might notice some changes going on this year as they browse the aisles at one of the nation’s largest retail chains.

Walmart has announced it will continue its multimillion-dollar investment in the state with plans to improve 18 locations. The modernizations will be for both in-store and online consumers. In a news release, the company said it would be “upgrading layouts, technology, and services to offer faster, more convenient shopping and delivery in as little as an hour for most customers.”

“Our remodeled stores are designed with both customers and associates in mind,” said Glenda Fleming Willis, Walmart senior vice president for the North Business Unit. “These upgrades across the state combine innovative technology, improved layouts and expanded services to deliver a better experience for everyone who walks through our doors or shops with us online.”
