A 39-year-old Riverside County man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man nearly two years ago.
Investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said that on June 26, 2024, deputies responded to the 24000 block of Fawn Street in Moreno Valley following reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence.
Deputies located a 32-year-old victim, later identified as Scott Leflore, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives with the sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation and ultimately identified Jeffrey Donnel Hendrix, a Moreno Valley resident, as a suspect in the case, though investigators did not say when or how he was tied to the deadly incident.
Hendrix was arrested on May 23 in the city of Rialto and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for murder, sheriff’s investigators said in a news release.
