A candidate for the city council of a Southern California city was hit with multiple charges in relation to a public corruption case.
Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin announced that Randolph Oscar Madrid, who was running for Menifee City Council, was charged with registering to vote and filing candidacy paperwork using addresses where he didn’t live.
Madrid, 73, who goes by “Randy,” is facing four felony counts:
- Count 1: Perjury
- Count 2: Causing, Procuring, or Allowing False Voter Registration
- Count 3: Perjury
- Count 4: Filing a False Nomination or Declaration of Candidacy
