Kohler booked on murder, hit-run death after Palm Avenue scooter crash

HEMET — Two pedestrians riding an electric scooter were struck by a vehicle near Palm and Commonwealth Avenue about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, and one of them was later pronounced dead, Hemet police said.

Hemet Police Communications received several 911 calls on the crash. Witnesses said the vehicle fled and gave a description and a direction of travel.

Officers found both pedestrians unresponsive in the roadway and rendered aid until medical personnel took over. The two were taken to a local hospital. One was pronounced dead. Police are withholding the identity of the deceased until family is notified…
