The Corona Police Department’s patrol officers, detectives, Real Time Information Center (RTIC), and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) team collaborated across three separate recent enforcement operations to apprehend armed suspects and recover illegal firearms.
Department officials highlighted three distinct incidents where field personnel and technology worked in tandem:
Domestic Dispute and Unserialized Firearm Recovery: Officers responded to a report of a suspect pointing a handgun at a family member and chasing him from a home. Patrol officers, detectives, and the department’s Drone as First Responder (DFR) unit established tactical containment around the residence. When the suspect exited the location, officers took him into custody without incident. A subsequent search warrant executed at the home yielded a loaded 9mm unserialized “ghost gun.”…
