RANCHO CUCAMONGA- On January 31st, 2024, police officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Hermosa Avenue and 6th Street involving a Nissan and Mercedes.
The driver of a Nissan was heading south on Hermosa Avenue, attempting to make a left turn onto 6th Street. Simultaneously, the Mercedes was traveling north on Hermosa Avenue towards the same intersection. The collision occurred at the intersection, propelling the Nissan Rogue into the traffic control signal pole on the northeast corner with significant force.
Despite the immediate response and life-saving efforts by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department, the female passenger inside the Nissan tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both drivers were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation and anyone with any information regarding the collision is asked to come forward. This incident serves as a stark reminder for all of us to prioritize safety on the road.
