Riverside County Sheriff’s Office to hold Corrections Career Expo on Feb. 10

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office announced today it will host a Corrections Career Expo next weekend at the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

The event will get underway at 10 a.m. Feb. 10 at the county jail, located at 28675 Highway 111, and will be open to all members of the public until 3 p.m., according to Sgt. Brandie Jackson with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

“This is your opportunity to see what our Corrections Division has to offer,” Jackson wrote in a statement. “Attendees will have the chance to meet with Correctional deputies and learn about specialized units within Corrections, such as the Emergency Response Team, Transportation, and Classification, and even get the chance to tour a jail bus!”

Career information will be provided onsite by sheriff’s recruiters for people interested in joining the department, according to Jackson. Application assistance will also be available for openings in positions including correctional deputy trainee, court deputy, deputy sheriff trainee, and 911 dispatcher.
