A 28-year-old man, identified as Kevin Mateas of Mead Valley, has been apprehended for his alleged involvement in a burglary at a cemetery maintenance building in Perris, resulting in the theft of equipment valued at over $20,000. Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s deputies, part of the Perris Robbery Burglary Suppression Team, responded to the incident which occurred in the 22000 block of Van Buren Boulevard around 11 p.m. last Sunday. During their investigation, they managed to record the license plate number of one of the two suspects involved.
A subsequent operation led authorities to execute a search warrant at a residence located in the 18000 block of Seaton Avenue in Mead Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The operation was a joint effort involving the Perris City Special Enforcement Team, the Robbery Burglary Suppression Team, and the Perris Gang Task Force. The search resulted in the discovery of evidence linked to the burglary and the arrest of Mateas without any reported incidents.
