In a dramatic water rescue operation, the combined efforts of Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies and Cal Fire personnel averted a potential tragedy as three juveniles found themselves in perilous waters at the Heacock storm canal on Cottonwood Ave. and Dilbeck Dr. in Moreno Valley.
The distress call came in at approximately 4:24 PM, signaling an urgent water rescue mission. The three juveniles were caught in the swift currents of the Heacock storm canal, posing a grave risk to their safety.
Upon arriving at the scene, Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies wasted no time and climbed into the canal to secure one of the juveniles, preventing further escalation of the situation until Cal Fire firefighters could execute an aerial rope rescue.
