Law Enforcement has warned residents to remain vigilant due to an escalation in residential burglaries. The latest string of robberies has been centered in the Redlands area; however, detectives suspect the crew has committed hundreds of burglaries across Southern California.
As reported by FOX 11, investigators believe these crimes may be largely connected to SATGs. South American Theft Groups.
The suspects are quite savvy in their process of invading homes by disguising themselves. According to a press release from the Redlands Police Department, they often try to blend in by wearing construction attire, backpacks, face coverings, and/or carrying construction equipment. Given these crimes have occurred between the hours of 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm, the disguises are likely to thwart any suspicious activity.
Victims of these crimes have had their windows smashed or doors kicked in. They have often entered through back doors, the timeline is normally when we may not have our house secured, and as the perpetrators have uniquely disguised themselves, neighbors and passersby would not suspect a robbery was about to occur.
