The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for much of northwestern Nevada and northeastern California that extends until noon on Monday.

The advisory was issued Friday afternoon due to expected gusty winds and low humidity in the area throughout most of Labor Day weekend. The forecast calls for southwest winds between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts between 30 and 40 mph. Humidity in the area is 9-15%.

Areas under the advisory include all of Washoe, Douglas and Storey counties as well as Carson City and western Lyon County. The advisory extended into eastern and southern Lassen County in California.

The annual Burning Man event , which lasts through Labor Day Monday, is just a few miles outside the Fire Weather Watch zone in western Pershing County.

The ceremonial burning of The Man is set for Saturday at 9 p.m.
