Feather Alert issued for indigenous woman missing out of Riverside County

A Feather Alert has been issued for a woman missing out of Lake Elsinore.

According to a CHP missing person bulletin, 43-year-old Amy Porter was last seen in Lake Elsinore around 2 p.m. on Sept. 14.

The exact location in Lake Elsinore was not disclosed.

Porter is described as standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black dress with yellow sunflowers on it.

She is a member of the Morongo Tribe, CHP stated.

Anyone who sees Porter or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911.

The recently passed AB 1863 designated the term “Feather Alert” for missing indigenous individuals.
