Southern California’s iconic Irwindale Speedway will shut down for good on December 21, marking the end of 25 years filled with high-speed racing, monster truck showcases, and demolition derbies. Located just east of Los Angeles, the Speedway opened in 1999 and quickly became a beloved venue for both professional and amateur racing events, drawing large crowds for NASCAR races and Thursday night drag competitions, fans stated.
Despite multiple past attempts to save the track from closure, Irwindale Speedway is finally set to be demolished to make way for a new industrial park, bringing an era of adrenaline-pumping motorsports to a close.
