Warehouse containing lithium-ion batteries burns in Riverside County

Crews are battling a fourth-alarm warehouse fire in Riverside on Thursday morning, authorities say.

The blaze was first reported at 1:27 a.m. on the 14000 Block of Meridian Parkway in Unincorporated Riverside, according to Cal Fire Riverside County .

The large warehouse contains small lithium-ion batteries that are made for power tools, but firefighters are still working to identify exactly what’s burning.

A hazardous materials team is at the scene alongside fire crews. The Riverside and Corona fire departments remain battling the blaze as of 7 a.m.
