A 19-year-old San Bernardino man watched his hard-earned savings and years of work turn into a mangled mess on Saturday afternoon when an out-of-control RV crashed into his and his family’s parked cars.
Surveillance footage captured the moment the RV rammed head-on into and onto Daniel Gallardo’s car, smushing at least two more cars behind his on Del Rosa Avenue.
When the driver backed up and left Gallardo’s car, he hit three additional vehicles, police confirmed.
The driver, who is believed to live just down the street from Gallardo’s family, has not been arrested.
Gallardo said he and his neighbors witnessed the crash and then followed the driver down the street and tried to confront him. They believe he was driving under the influence.
“He was all drowsy and we saw his face, his eyes were all popping out, his eyes were so red,” Gallardo told KTLA’s Shelby Nelson on Friday. “When he was saying stuff, he was slurring to me.”
San Bernardino police said they’ve made several attempts to contact the driver, but did not provide any further information.
