The California Credit Union Foundation has announced the recipients of its Fall 2024 Teacher Grant program, funding creative classroom initiatives across Los Angeles and Orange counties. From after-school computer science clubs to art therapy projects, the grants aim to inspire innovative learning.
The Foundation awarded 10 grants of $500 each to support diverse projects, including a 3rd-grade science experiment on plastic decomposition at Mayall Street Academy of Arts/Technology. Principal Linda Kim and teacher Laura East received the grant from Mariam Nasiry, California Credit Union AVP of School and Community Development.
Since 2012, the Foundation has provided $205,000 in grants to educators. President Marvel Ford applauded the recipients, emphasizing the importance of supporting teachers’ creativity in education. Grants are awarded bi-annually to teachers in Southern California counties.
