Riverside County Gas Prices Rise for Third Consecutive Day

The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Riverside County has risen for the third consecutive day, increasing by two-tenths of a cent today to $4.26.7 per gallon. This follows a rise of 1.2 cents yesterday, continuing the trend of slight increases in the region’s fuel prices. The latest increase brings the average price just one-tenth of a cent higher than it was a week ago. However, it is still significantly lower than prices seen a month ago, falling by 6.7 cents. Compared to last year, gasoline prices in the county are down by a substantial 25.5 cents per gallon. Despite the recent uptick, Riverside County’s current average is still a far cry from the record high of $6.37.3 per gallon, which was reached on October 5, 2022. Since that peak, the price has dropped by a substantial $2.10.6, providing some relief to drivers in the area. While the recent price changes are minimal, experts continue to monitor the market for any further fluctuations in fuel costs, especially as we approach the holiday travel season. It remains to be seen whether this upward trend will continue or if prices will stabilize. As of now, residents of Riverside County are seeing a more affordable gas price landscape compared to the record highs experienced during last year’s energy crisis. Credit: City News Service
