The Corona Police Department has provided updates on its activities for the week of December 30, 2024, through January 5, 2025. Officers responded to 1,835 incidents, including alarm calls, area checks, disturbance calls, property checks, and welfare checks. Over the week, 70 individuals were arrested on various charges.
On December 31, at 12:33 p.m., officers detained three individuals in connection with a theft incident at Home Depot on East Ontario Avenue. Mayra Torres, 35, was arrested for petty theft and additional charges under Prop 36 for theft with prior convictions. Juan Torres, 49, was arrested for possession of an illegal weapon, while Mario Nunez-Sanchez, 36, was apprehended for providing false information and a felony burglary warrant.
