Average LA County gas price hits highest amount since late July

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Saturday to its highest amount since July 29, increasing 2.3 cents to $4.629, rising for the 13th time in 14 days.

The average price has risen 13.8 over the past 14 days, including 1.4 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose a half-cent Jan. 26, four-tenths of a cent Jan. 27, dropped four-tenths of a cent Jan. 28 and resumed increasing Jan. 29.

The average price is 10.7 cents more than one week ago and 18 cents higher than one month ago but 9.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.865 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price recorded its largest increase since April 5, rising 3.4 cents to $4.603, its highest amount since July 18. It has risen 12 consecutive days, increasing 16.8 cents, including 1.5 cents Friday…
