Orange County Deputies Fatally Shoot Man Armed with Knife During Reported Burglary

Tragedy struck last night in Orange County as sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a man during a reported burglary. The incident unfolded around 11:30 p.m. on the 100 block of W. Castle Street, as deputies were dispatched in response to the burglary, according to a statement reported by FOX 35 Orlando. On arrival, the deputies, watching from the backyard, witnessed two men in a physical fight inside the home, one brandishing a knife.

The sheriff’s office shared in their release, “One of the men was holding a knife and did not comply with several commands from deputies to drop it.” Following the man’s refusal to comply, two deputies proceeded to discharge their service weapons, striking the individual. The Orange County Sheriff’s spokesperson also noted, as reported by ClickOrlando, that despite efforts to have the man surrender the knife, the deputies had to use lethal force ultimately…
