CHP nabs truck driver for going ‘well above’ California’s 55 MPH commercial vehicle speed limit

This week, a California Highway Patrol (CHP) trooper cited a truck driver for a major speed limit violation in Solono County.

On February 10, CHP – Solano took to social media to make an example out of a speeding semi truck driver.

“Earlier today, Officer Tyhurst was utilizing a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) device and monitoring traffic for speed violations. His attention was drawn to a big rig driving at a speed well above the limit allowed for a vehicle with 3 or more axles (55 mph). The officer obtained a speed of 81 mph on the big rig and made an enforcement stop. Needless to say, this driver was cited for his actions,” troopers said…
