LOS ANGELES – ALDI, the fastest-growing grocer in the U.S., has announced plans to open over 225 new stores in 2025, marking its largest single-year expansion in nearly 50 years. The low-cost grocery chain will add stores across the Northeast, Midwest, West, and Southeast, including Southern California, Arizona, and Las Vegas.
The expansion includes the conversion of 220 Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores into ALDI locations by 2027. Meanwhile, ALDI has sold 170 non-converting stores to a consortium led by C&S Wholesale Grocers.
“With rising grocery costs, more shoppers are turning to ALDI for quality at lower prices,” said ALDI CEO Jason Hart. ALDI currently operates over 2,400 U.S. stores, with one in four American households shopping there.
