The California Highway Patrol (CHP) recently halted a commercial vehicle at the Grapevine Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility due to a dangerously worn super single tire. With less than 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) of tread remaining, this violation forced the vehicle out of service until the tire issue is addressed, the CHP stated.
