Shooting suspect due back in court next week

The Jurupa Valley man arrested in connection to a January 23 shooting in Claremont that left two men injured is due to appear at Pomona Superior Court Department N at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26 for a preliminary hearing setting before Judge Robert Serna.

Erik William Guevara, 33, faces three felony charges of attempted murder, Penal Code 664-187(a), each with enhancements pertaining to PC1170.12, or “one or more serious/violent felony convictions.” Two of the attempted murder charges include PC12022.53(d) enhancements while one is subject to a PC12022.53(c) enhancement, all pertain to “personal and intentional discharge of a firearm.”

Guevara was also charged with one felony count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, PC29800(a)(1), also with the “one or more serious/violent felony convictions” enhancement…
