A major California winery and known supporter of the LGBTQ+ community came under fire this weekend after an accusation that it pulled its corporate sponsorship from San Francisco’s 2025 Pride Celebration.
Now, La Crema Winery — the maker of one of America’s most popular Chardonnays — is speaking out against the allegation, saying its sponsorship was never in doubt.
On Saturday, San Francisco Pride executive director Suzanne Ford told KTVU reporter Amber Lee in a televised interview that several former corporate sponsors including Jackson Family Wines, which owns La Crema, and roughly 30 other West coast wineries, had decided not to participate in this year’s event.
