CALIFORNIA — The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) has awarded $18.4 million in grants to 18 cities and counties across California to boost equity in the legal cannabis industry. Funding will help jurisdictions like Los Angeles ($3.5M), San Francisco ($3.3M), and Sacramento ($1.68M) eliminate barriers for local applicants through low-interest loans, reduced fees, and technical support.
Other recipients include San Diego County, Long Beach, Oakland, Palm Springs, and Watsonville. Since the program’s inception, GO-Biz has distributed $123.4 million to 34 jurisdictions statewide, supporting over 1,400 licensees facing financial and regulatory hurdles.
The Cannabis Equity Grants Program, established after Proposition 64, aims to reduce the illicit market by expanding legal participation.Source: GO-Biz
