Southern California Braces for Big Cooldown and Light Rain; Highs Expected to Drop Below Normal

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A major weather shift is on the horizon for Southern California, including San Diego, Orange, Western Riverside, and Southwestern San Bernardino Counties, according to the National Weather Service San Diego.

Mild cooling is expected Monday, but by Friday, daytime highs could plunge 10–20 degrees below normal. Coastal and inland valleys will see increasing low clouds and fog, with possible marine layer drizzle Tuesday morning. A 15–30% chance of light rain could affect areas from the mountains to the coast Thursday night through Saturday.

Snow levels may dip to 6,000 feet, bringing light accumulations to higher elevations. By early next week, temperatures are expected to rebound slightly as weak ridging returns.
