A registered nurse, Ferrer expanded the infusion center in Yorba Linda and was instrumental in opening the Chao Center. For patients facing transportation challenges, she implemented a rideshare program. She also established a port clinic, which dramatically reduced wait times for essential central line placements. She’s helped secure and maintain prestigious accreditations from the Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Programs, and Quality Oncology Practice Initiative.
HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS NOW VERSUS WHEN YOU WERE FIRST STARTING OUT?I define my daily and overall success by asking myself two questions. 1. How have I earned people’s trust today? 2. Can I look myself in the mirror and be proud of the decisions I made today because I stuck to my values? When I was first starting out, success looked like a full calendar, committing to work at all hours of the day and night, a full roster of projects, more direct reports, bigger projects, and the validation of others. It was all very external. Success can and sometimes is all of those things, but I now focus more on the relationships I am building with people. Healthy relationships and partnerships with people inside and outside of the organization is the foundation to exponentially scaling any business or operational model.
