Kittens found zip-tied to shopping cart nearing full recovery

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two kittens who had been taken to the Helen Woodward Animal Center after they were found zip-tied to a shopping cart in Riverside County earlier this year are nearing a full recovery.

The orange tabby kittens — named Frodo and Sam after characters from “Lord of the Rings” trilogy — had a near dire prognosis when they were brought to the shelter by one of their partners in late May. The kittens were believed to only be a few days old…
