It was unbelievable and alarming to witness the latest dust storm in the Coachella Valley on Saturday, June 21. My wife Gladis and I were driving home, eastward into the Coachella Valley from Los Angeles around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. The high winds were brutally strong but worse was the active dust particles that surrounded us that seem to have been suspended in the air which caused my wife and I angst and anxiety on our drive home.
As soon as we entered Cathedral City and Desert Hot Springs city limits on Interstate 10 and continuing into Rancho Mirage, Thousand Palms, and Palm Desert, the amount of blowing dust was so overwhelming and thick as mud that we literally could not see five feet in front of our vehicle while driving.
