Dramatic moment baby is rescued from 110-degree car in roasting California heat

Dramatic video footage captured the moment police officer rescued a baby from a dangerously hot vehicle in California as temperatures topped triple digits.

Police in Corona responded to a call on June 17 and discovered an infant just a few months old locked inside a parked car with the windows rilled up and the engine switched off. Temperatures outside that day had hit 96 degrees while Corona police said a thermal device recorded a temperature of 110 degrees inside the vehicle.

The City of Corona Police Department said that “when officers arrived at the scene, they observed the baby in distress, and breached a window to extricate him.” Body camera footage of the incident showed officers quickly smashing one of the car’s front windows so that they could unlock the door and rescue the baby from a back seat.
