O.C. crackdown nets 1,300 pounds of illegal fireworks, gun and narcotics

A special investigations unit in Orange County has taken thousands of pounds of illegal fireworks off the streets ahead of the 4th of July holiday.

Costa Mesa Police Department SIU detectives found the illegal contraband, as well as a gun and narcotics, during four separate operations in which sellers offering prohibited fireworks were contacted.

“Altogether, detectives have seized a total of 1,339 pounds of illegal fireworks, one firearm, 2,900 counterfeit Xanax pills, an ounce of cocaine, and made three arrests,” the Police Department posted on Facebook Monday…
