Corona asking residents to help reduce outdoor water use

From July 21 through July 25, Corona residents and businesses are asked to temporarily reduce outdoor water use to help the city manage a critical maintenance period. The Metropolitan Water District will undertake a non-routine inspection on a Feeder Pipeline at Lake Mathews, which delivers raw water to Corona’s surface water treatment plants. Although most inspections happen in winter, this mid-summer check is “necessary to ensure system reliability and staff safety,” city officials said in a statement.

To complete the work, Metropolitan will limit water deliveries, reducing the amount of surface water available to the city.
