Fire breaks out on 91 Freeway in Corona threatening homes, scorches at least 50 acres

A fire burning in Riverside County threatened homes late Friday afternoon, as crews battled the blaze from the ground and air to contain the flames.

The blaze was reported at 4:20 p.m. on the eastbound side of the 91 Freeway, possibly in a homeless encampment between the freeway and Palisades Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
