Jurupa Resident Arrested for Felony Vandalism at Lake Mathews Memorial Site

A suspect has been apprehended in connection with an act of vandalism at a memorial site in Lake Mathews, an unincorporated area of Corona, officials reported. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as Izaak Carlos Lucero, a 28-year-old resident of Jurupa, with the arrest occurring nearly a week after the incident.

Based on reports from the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station, multiple calls were received on Thursday, July 24, describing vandalism to the memorial located at Cajalco Road and La Sierra Avenue. The family of the honoree estimated damages at around $2,200. On Thursday morning, after taking up the investigation, the Lake Mathews Special Enforcement Team found Lucero on Jennie Street in the city of Jurupa and arrested him, booking him for felony vandalism at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
