Drunk Driver Sentenced in Death of Disneyland Parade Performer

The drunk driver responsible for the 2022 deaths of a Disneyland Parade Performer and her father, has now been sentenced.

On the evening of November 13, 2022, Scott Bales crossed the centerline on Gilman Springs Road in Moreno Valley, crashing into the victim’s car. The California Highway Patrol stated that the driver had a blood alcohol level of .102, well over the legal limit of 0.08. Both Hannah Jacks and her father, Daniel Jacks Jr., were pronounced dead at the scene.

During the trial, Bales pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and three counts of driving under the influence. Ultimately, Bales was sentences to two 15-year prison terms, and will serve both consecutively.
