Coachella Community Stunned by Early Morning Shooting; One Teen Dead, Two Critically Injured

Early Saturday morning, a tragic scene unfolded in Coachella as deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in a quiet residential area. According to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the deputies were dispatched at approximately 3:45 a.m. to the 49000 block of Corte Molino. On arrival, the officers found three adolescent males with gunshot wounds. While emergency measures were taken, only one victim could not survive the injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

The other two teenagers were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition, with the circumstances surrounding the shooting still under investigation. Rendering urgent medical aid, deputies at the scene worked alongside paramedics in an attempt to save the lives of these young individuals.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit has since taken over the investigation, which remains active as they seek to uncover the motive and identify the suspect or suspects involved.
