A grass fire that burned an estimated 46 acres in western Riverside County on Saturday was 50% contained as of Sunday morning, Cal Fire said.
The agency said the fire was burning near Live Oak Canyon and San Timeo Canyon roads and was first reported at about 5 p.m.. Saturday. Live Oak Canyon is located on the southern end of Redlands and sits on the border of San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
The fire was initially reported to be about 10 acres and described as “burning at a moderate rate of spread.” It grew to about 46 acres by 6:20 p.m. The agency reported Saturday that 148 fire personnel were working the fire and a helicopter was also being used…
