Riverside looks to build sports/entertainment complex

Riverside and a local developer have agreed to begin working on a proposed city-owned sports and entertainment complex.

The city council voted unanimously Aug. 19 to negotiate an agreement with GCS Development in Riverside to build the Riverside Sports Complex & Entertainment District in the Northside neighborhood, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The 56-acre site, former home of the Ab Brown Sports Complex, will include a multi-use stadium, six soccer fields, and an indoor sports and game complex in its first phase.
