(FOX 5/KUSI) — Monday’s thunderstorms across Southern California sent thousands of lightning bolts arcing through the skies, with hundreds of them making contact with the ground.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said it was “quite an active day,” with more than 10,000 lightning strikes recorded across San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The NWS said that the lightning happened between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
