A pair of convicted felons accused of breaking into an El Cerrito home, pistol-whipping and robbing the occupants, must stand trial for armed robbery and other offenses, a judge ruled Thursday.
Ricardo Jose Gonzalez, 41, of Riverside and Megan Alice Schuchman, 40, of Corona were arrested in January following a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department investigation into the home invasion.
At the end of a preliminary hearing Thursday, Superior Court Judge Gail O’Rane found there was sufficient evidence to bound both defendants over for trial on the robbery count, burglary and being a felon in possession of a loaded gun, as well as a sentence-enhancing allegation of using a firearm during a felony.
