Heat advisory issued in Riverside County for Labor Day and beyond

A heat advisory will go into effect Monday, Sept. 1 in many areas of Riverside County, where temperatures will soar well above 100 degrees on Labor Day.

The advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. Monday to at least 6 p.m. Tuesday in areas of the county including downtown Riverside, Temecula and Hemet, according to the National Weather Service.

“The ridge is going to begin to expand further westward and allow for highs to be even warmer tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 1), with highs likely topping out above the 100 degree mark for most locations within the Inland Empire. For this reason, a heat advisory is in place tomorrow for all of the inland areas, including Orange and San Diego counties,” the NWS said Sunday…
