Los Angeles, CA — September 14, 2025 — Drivers in Southern California are facing higher fuel costs again, as the average price of gasoline in both Los Angeles and Orange counties continues to climb.
According to the latest data from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose by 1 cent on Saturday to $4.707 — the highest level since June 5. Prices have now increased in 14 of the last 15 days, adding up to a 9.3-cent rise. Compared with a week ago, that’s 5.7 cents higher; compared with a month ago, prices are up by 24.1 cents. Year-over-year, gas is 9.6 cents more expensive.
In neighboring Orange County, the average price rose by 1.3 cents to $4.692, the highest since May 28. Prices there have jumped 25 cents over the past 24 days. Gas is now 6 cents more expensive than a week ago, 26.6 cents higher than a month ago, and nearly 15 cents more than one year ago…
