Rail Projects in the Victor Valley: On Track for a Bright Future

Brightline West, BIG hub will bring faster travel, better freight and opportunity.

Two transformative transportation projects are reshaping the future of the Victor Valley region of Southern California.

Brightline West to Zip Into the Region by Late 2028

Brightline West, the nation’s first true high-speed rail system, continues to gain momentum, with plans to connect Las Vegas to Southern California via a 218-mile all-electric line. With stations planned for Victor Valley, Hesperia and Rancho Cucamonga, the project is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion along Interstate 15 and stimulate long-term economic development. Local communities could also benefit from new retail, hospitality and housing opportunities near station areas, helping revitalize neighborhoods and attract new residents.

“Brightline West will be a game-changing infrastructure project for the region,” says Antonio Castelan, director of public affairs for Brightline West. “It’s expected to create approximately 10,000 jobs at its peak and provide a sustainable, high-speed alternative to highway travel.”

Recent milestones include a $3 billion federal-state partnership grant agreement, the selection of Siemens Mobility as the preferred manufacturer of the train sets, and $2.5 billion in private activity bonds issued earlier this year. Construction is on track to begin soon, with trains operational by late 2028.
