Riverside County Animal Services Extends Shelter Hours to Boost Adoptions

Riverside County Animal Services is rolling out new changes aimed at making shelters more accessible for families and animal lovers across the Coachella Valley.Beginning tomorrow, shelter hours will run Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Officials say the extended evening hours are designed to help people visit shelters after work — whether they’re searching for a lost pet, looking to adopt, or considering fostering or volunteering.“Overall, we are making a lot of changes around here to help increase accessibility for people who want to adopt pets or come and foster or even volunteer,” Riverside County Animal Services manager Marlo Clingman said. “So the longer we’re open in the evening, the more chances people have to adopt.”Animal Services leaders say this is just the beginning.
