Riverside offers free bus rides to veterans on Veterans Day

The Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) will offer free rides to all U.S. military veterans on Veterans Day, honoring those who have served in the armed forces with complimentary transportation across western Riverside County.

The promotion, available Tuesday, applies to all RTA services, including local and CommuterLink buses, GoMicro routes and Dial-A-Ride. Veterans can simply present valid identification to ride for free. Acceptable forms of ID include a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs card, a California driver’s license or ID with a “Veteran” designation, a U.S. Uniformed Services ID card indicating retired status, or an RTA-issued Veteran ID card.

RTA said the initiative is a way to thank veterans for their service and provide an opportunity for them to travel freely on Veterans Day, whether visiting loved ones, attending commemorative events or accessing essential services.
