Good news stories are frequent, and many begin with locals noticing an animal in need. That was true the day Arturo Flores and Lou Dora, who volunteer with a cat care group, noticed a small head peeking out from behind a pillar.

From a distance, they assumed they were looking at a frightened cat. Once they approached, they discovered the truth. It was a dog, and she needed someone to look out for her.
